What’s your miracle?

I find that we humans tend to complain. A lot.

For the most part of it though, when I really, truly think about it, it dawns on me that we live in a beautiful world. No jokes.

I have to admit that I can sometimes be blamed for searching for my miracles far and wide when often they are right there, staring me in the face, waiting patiently to be glimpsed at.

I was reminded of this wonderful fact on Monday when my sister and I were semi-severely tested. We were besides ourselves wondering what was going to happen, how the World as we knew it was going to change forever, without no forewarning (you know, the usual stuff).

One moment with our parents though evaded the impending disaster in ooh, about five minutes. I honestly do have the best parents ever (as I think every child does for themselves) and I often realise – one look into my mama or baba’s eyes and there it is, glaring right back at me. My  Miracle.

Here’s hoping that each and every one of you have your miracles close by today!

So I was up at 5am, which is never a pretty picture for me.

Lets just say, even makeup doesn’t make this face look any better or brighter  … but whatever.

Anyway, you know those days that could just not be anymore perfect? Well, I had one of those days today.

Met a client at Bondi Beach, next to the surf and sand. Even a Monday looked shiny today. Just goes to show that the Early Bird really does get the best worm, but I’m a vegetarian and sometimes the good stuff is in the novelty, so my Indian genes have won out and I am still going to be trying my hardest to wake up after the Sun comes up, I mean it’s only fair. That is until Thursday morning when I am waking up at 3:30am. Seriously -_-

Naturally, ALL of you need to know my sleep habits, I’m positive your day’s complete now that you know my nocturnal (or lack of it) schedule. Well, they do say sharing is caring! 😛

Happy New Year!

Arguably one of the most popular festivals in India, The Festival of Lights or what Indians refer to as Diwali is tomorrow. Considered as the Hindu New Year, this celebratory event is all about rejoicing in fresh, new beginnings, revelling in the brightness of illuminated knowledge as well as happiness, exulting in the victory of good over evil with hope winning over despair, and wishing prosperity and wealth for everyone!

Diwali for my sister and I has always been about frolicking fun after a mad rush of spring cleaning with friends and family, praying for peace – emotional, spiritual and physical, lots and lots of lights and alighted “Diyas” (candles), colourful “Rangoli” displays (intricate vibrant Indian designed floor patterns composed of multi-coloured powders), making “Malas” (flower necklaces), painting rice flour feet imprints throughout the house in representation of the Goddess Lakshmi entering our abode, and who can forget, a gigantic amount of amazingly, delectably, scrumptious food, both savoury and sweet.

I’d like to hurl my kindest, most joyous and greatest celebratory hug at you for this Diwali. May your life be filled with happiness, enlightened knowledge, understanding, peace, wealth in a spiritual and monetary sense 🙂 , celebration and good, wholesome, cherished company forever.

Happy Diwali to everyone!!! /Aap Sab Ko Deepavali Ki Hardik Shubhkamnaye!!!

No Money? No Worries!

Whenever I think back to all the great times I have had, I often realise that those memorable experiences involved no monetary funds, or flashy, expensive add-ons. In fact, all my “everything is perfect right now” moments included a combination of those I love, happy, positive thoughts and the time to enjoy the World around me.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m definitely not saying that money isn’t important but what I am saying is that it is useless without the “real” raw ingredients to your recipe towards happiness.

Here’s to wishing all of you true glorious happiness! I hope you have your raw ingredients packed up tight to take along with you on this weekend! ❤ ❤ ❤

It’s not me. It’s you.

Yup, you heard me correctly, sometimes it’s not me, it really is you.

I have struggled for most of my life (till date anyway) with worrying about what others think and feel about me. Deeply buried within the crevices of my soul, I know it shouldn’t matter, in fact better yet, I know it doesn’t matter what others think of me as long as I know it’s the right thing to do at the time and that most pertinently, I can look in the mirror every morning when I wake up without wincing (unless I’m having an abominably bad hair day). 😉

Sometimes in life though, you will sadly meet many individuals who seems to have made it their life’s purpose to bring others down, for no apparent reason whatsoever. To these people I like to use the “It’s not me, it’s you” comeback.

I urge you to do the same! I have come across some amazing bloggers here recently that are taking the time and effort to help you in your journey to not just making this world a better place but you a better you, which is the first step to improving everything around you!

Please do take a look, I promise you, you won’t be disappointed 🙂 See you soon my lovelies!

Here’s to Fresh, New Beginnings!

Spring is just around the corner for sunny/foggy/freezing/torrential pouring/stormy Oz (at least Nature’s keeping it interesting). Yay!

Don’t you love that spine tingling feeling as you watch the world come alive around you?

Have a beautiful weekend guys 🙂

The Gift of Giving

Helping others is far from being completely charitable! There is no other feeling that gives you quite as much warm fuzziness to sooth your insides than helping someone else unexpectedly. A smile from a stranger or friend when they receive something worthwhile and touching out of the blue is by far, one of the best emotions you could ever gift yourself 🙂

Try it out – I promise you won’t be disappointed!
