Have a Great Festive Season !

Hiya all,

Just wanted to wish everyone a VERY Merry Christmas & Happy New Year 🙂

Have a wonderful break with family and friends – spread much Christmas cheer and happiness and enjoy all that yummy food.

FYI – Just tried homemade eggnog (the non alcoholic version because I find brandy too overpowering and tend to not drink anyway) for the first time ever over the weekend and OMGGGGG! Droollllll

One word – DELECTABLEAWESOMENESS (yes, I did just make up my own word because it was that mind blowing).

Any how, have a great time off – recuperate, sleep, eat, dance and generally be merry so we’re all bangin’ for 2019 xoxo

No Money? No Worries!

Whenever I think back to all the great times I have had, I often realise that those memorable experiences involved no monetary funds, or flashy, expensive add-ons. In fact, all my “everything is perfect right now” moments included a combination of those I love, happy, positive thoughts and the time to enjoy the World around me.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m definitely not saying that money isn’t important but what I am saying is that it is useless without the “real” raw ingredients to your recipe towards happiness.

Here’s to wishing all of you true glorious happiness! I hope you have your raw ingredients packed up tight to take along with you on this weekend! ❤ ❤ ❤

It’s not me. It’s you.

Yup, you heard me correctly, sometimes it’s not me, it really is you.

I have struggled for most of my life (till date anyway) with worrying about what others think and feel about me. Deeply buried within the crevices of my soul, I know it shouldn’t matter, in fact better yet, I know it doesn’t matter what others think of me as long as I know it’s the right thing to do at the time and that most pertinently, I can look in the mirror every morning when I wake up without wincing (unless I’m having an abominably bad hair day). 😉

Sometimes in life though, you will sadly meet many individuals who seems to have made it their life’s purpose to bring others down, for no apparent reason whatsoever. To these people I like to use the “It’s not me, it’s you” comeback.

I urge you to do the same! I have come across some amazing bloggers here recently that are taking the time and effort to help you in your journey to not just making this world a better place but you a better you, which is the first step to improving everything around you!

Please do take a look, I promise you, you won’t be disappointed 🙂 See you soon my lovelies!

What’s the big deal with First Place?

When people ask me to recall my most profound moments so far, my mind normally travels to the times I didn’t win something – be it an award, a debate, something I really wanted in life. My friends or those I fortuitously come in contact with will look at me with barely cloaked intrigue and wonder aloud why I feel the way I do when most of us seem to recount our first prizes in life.

I seem to always focus on the second places, or what others may view as losses. Why? Because I truly do believe that those supposed “losses” are what helped in shaping me as a person, an individual and most importantly, a survivor, what made me work harder, go that extra mile, be more positive and work towards getting that goal eventually.

These are the most imperative points in my journey, the ones I remember even now because besides getting me that elusive first place, they helped build character and gifted (and continue to do so till this day) me with the power to face the various curve balls and challenges life has to hurl my way.

Here’s raising a glass to your second place! 🙂
