Have you got the Christmas lights set up – check! The tree stocked with presents – check! The candy jar filled to the brim (well mine did start out that way :P) – check!
Honestly, I was so organised this year – December 1st and everything was set to go 😀
Anyhow, I just wanted to write a short note wishing everyone much joyful festive cheer this wonderful, awesome season.
I am deep in the midst and dark dungeons of trying to get my next instalment of The Last True Blood Series ready for Smashwords’ completely unattainable (or at least it seems so) Premium category but I must admit, I am revelling in the writing journey again.
Won’t be here for a while, having a much needed and well deserved (at least I think so) break for the summer holidays here in Oz.
Take care & watch this space pretty please! Will keep you updated soon. Cheerio my peeps!
My favourite month is just around the corner, summer holidays for us Aussies! Yay!!!
I know I probably say this every year, but man am I ready for a break. I go on unofficial leave in about 2 1/2 weeks time and official leave in 3 1/2 which means that there’s a lot to do before I officially hang my socks up for the year.
It also means you lucky Bloggers get a much needed break from moi till about February, 2016 unless I sporadically post in between now till then because I absolutelyhave to. Just to check up on all of you mischievous followers. But, you’re my mischievous lot so I love you 🙂
Anyway, have a wonderful, magnificently marvellous festive season with the people you care for and who love you back (because that’s important, just saying) and I will see you all in 2016.
Thanks for the laughs this year, you helped me get through many a dreary day. See you soon xoxo
1 – I have mad library monitor skills. No friends at the beginning of high school meant that I spent my lunchtime stuck in a library learning how to catalogue. Now I get half my earnings from bets I’ve won against those who swear I could never EVER find a book that went missing in the state library a generation ago. Boo-ya 😀
2 – Being a nerd meant I wasn’t afraid of introducing my “imaginary” (I only put inverted commas around that word because I still have a hard time really, truly believing they’re imaginary but hey, it’s what gets me around this insane world without a straightjacket) friends Gumpy, Lulu and a recent addition – Da Bozter. Frolicking with them freely only facilitated a freedom to explore the world I had so aptly created in my cranium without prejudice and snickered induced stares. Who am I kidding? I still got all that crap, I just didn’t care because what could possibly be worst than being called a “Nerd” (now those inverted commas are supposed to be sarcastic).
3 – And this is the best one yet. I explored music, drama and the literary arts without the imprisoned barrier of “Coolness”. Which meant I got to party with all the great talents out there without the fear of being restricted to what was “in” with the crowd which leads me to one of the best things I did over the holidays – Shakespeare!!! Sport for Jove is this seriously wondrous event that happens in my quaint, little neighbourhood every summer and man is it AWESOME. I mean what could be better than Shakespeare in the great Aussie summer outdoors (even when it is pouring cats and dogs), right? Nothing, that’s what. This year it was A Midsummer Night’s Dream and The Crucible, in one word – A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!
So to all those Nerds out there, fist bump coz we rock … and you know, fist bumping is kinda cool (in a nerdy way of course!) and to all those who think we’re off, well we may be … but we’re proud of it!
I’m going to be going offline for a while, probably until February. As some of you may have caught on (basically because I never shut up about it 😛 ) my summer holidays are unofficially about to commence tomorrow.
As a sidebar – YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!
Ahem, now that that’s out! I would just like to take this time to thank you ALL from the very bottom of my heart for your extremely valued support and feedback throughout this (at the moment) short journey I started on back in April. Had I even had an inkling about the amazingly talented and wonderful people I have met throughout this journey (so far), I so would have started eons ago!
I really do hope that you’ll stick it out with me and that I see all of you as well as some new faces in 2015.
Have a GREAT, AMAZING and most importantly SAFE festive season with your loved ones and those lucky enough to have been chosen by you to be part of your life.
I will see you all bright eyed, and bushy tailed in 2015! Unless I am really bored at which time I will have to cut your vacation from my usual ramblings short – just a little bit of an advance warning 😉
Only one more month till the end of the year – which for Aussies means SUMMER HOLIDAYS!!!
I can’t wait, I’ve already started counting down! 6 weeks until I try and not look at a computer screen for 3 weeks at least, where I try to find myself through a unique, trying juxtaposition of meditation, snoring, vegetating, gluttonous consumption and P-A-R-T-Y-I-N-G. Basically in an attempt to connect with my elusive Stone Age ancestors.
For now though, it’s back to the ol’ drawing board – bloody Monday 😉
1. We’re finally into double digits, which makes me feel like I’ve achieved something, namely close to another year with my brain intact (okay fine, most of it anyway).
2. It’s smack bang in the middle of Spring where everything is starting to awake, ready to p-a-r-t-y!!!
3. This year, it’s when all the celebrations happen for Indians – Navratri, Karwa Chauth, the Festival of Lights (Diwali) and who doesn’t like a good celebration, right?
4. Summer Holidays are just around the corner – Aussie sun, Aussie Beaches, Barbeques (even for vegetarians), shorts and string tops, good, safe tans!!! Oh, and did I mention heaps and heaps of ICE CREAM!!!!!!!
Now explain to me again, how anyone could possibly not be ecstatic about October? 🙂
